Simply Good Life — Lift Weights! | Learn to Disagree | Zen Quote
Hi friends, here is your weekly dose of “Simply Good Life,” a list of things that will help you to grow personally and professionally. Enjoy!
Lift Weights!
I’ve just heard about a study that showed how important it is to lift weights. This study examined older adults who strength trained 2x/week. They had a:
- 46% reduced risk of premature death
- 41% reduced risk of cardiac problems
-19% reduced risk of dying from cancer
If you’re not lifting weights… start!
Learn to Disagree
In a recent interview Scott Adams — the creator of the Dilbert comic strip — presented a fantastic way to disagree with people:
1: First, state what you do agree on. Then, slowly introduce the disagreements.
2: Put your disagreements in the form of questions, rather than statements (ask “What would it look like if your idea played out for the next 10 years?”)
What are your ways of disagreeing with others?

Zen Quote I Love
When you understand one thing through and through, you understand everything. When you try to understand everything, you will not understand anything. The best way is to understand yourself, and then you will understand everything. Zen Mind, Beginner’s Mind
This zen quote showed me the importance of understanding myself. I spend a lot of time analyzing how my brain works and who I am by running a lot of self-assessment tests. Do you as well?
Have a great weekend,
Adam
