Every health article today talks about the importance of muscle training. I’ve never wanted to go to the gym again, I rather enjoy exercising outdoors — running, swimming, biking. Last year I realized the amount of information about strength training was convincing enough for me to re-join the gym after 30 years.
But what’s the best training regimen? It looks like it’s all about slow speed and a lot of time under tension:
You go to failure — or as close as you safely can — then take a brief rest of 3–5 deep breaths, then you do another 3–5 reps. Those will all still be challenging, effective reps. Repeat this four more times.

The simplest questions are the most profound. Where were you born? Where is your home? Where are you going? What are you doing? Think about these once in a while, and watch your answers change.

I’m getting there, especially in the area of material possessions, but I always will be struggling with the idea of being okay with where I am mentally and with all my projects.
