Hi friends, here is your weekly dose of “Simply Good Life”, a newsletter that tries to make your day a little bit better and help you to grow personally and professionally. Enjoy!

How To Get Hired

“In today’s world, he or she who gets hired is not necessarily the one who can do that job best; but, the one who knows the most about how to get hired.” — What Color Is Your Parachute?

After reading the great book “What Color Is Your Parachute?” by Richard N. Bolles, I realized how important it is to know as much as possible about how to get hired. I now believe, the whole interview process is about building a human connection to the recruiter and the manager when applying for a job.

After reading this book, I decided to write my own book about communicating non-verbally. I especially focused on teaching how to build a human connection with others.

Are You The Good One?

I love podcasts with Naval Ravikant. Naval has a great way to explain things in an easy way.

“Everyone thinks they’re a good person…everybody is fighting for a cause…ISIS: they’re blowing it up because they feel like their fellow Muslims are being oppressed. One man’s terrorist is another man’s freedom fighter…it’s all white knights fighting each other” — Naval Ravikant

We all think we’re the good ones. That’s why I always try to understand why others may be so convinced of their position. The others are exactly as convinced of their positions as we are. They also think they are the good ones.

Quote I Love

“Focus on where you want to go, not on what you fear.” Tony Robbins

Our lives can be dominated by fears like: “What if….happens and it ruins everything?”. We often find ourselves thinking about the downside rather than focusing on getting where we want to go. Think about where you’re trying to go. Now imagine what life would look like if you got there.

Have a great day, all!
