Become Unbelievably Amazing
Today’s Simply Good Life is a collection of my favorite focusing questions, questions I try to answer now and then to re-align.
Ask yourself: what is it, that if I believed it down to my core, would change everything? Make the fears irrelevant? Make the person I’d become so unbelievably amazing that I’d blow my own socks off? — from Live Your Truth Kamal Ravikant
I’ve always struggled with perfectionism. If I really believed it’s OK to be bad, my life would be different.
The answer to this question changes every time I ask.
How Much Would I Pay
I wrote about this quote from the Tim Ferriss Podcast episode with Graham Duncan two years ago. It’s still one of my favorites. The question is meant as a reminder to enjoy joyful experiences.
During joyful experiences, try to pause and imagine yourself in the future asking- “How much would I pay to be in this moment again?”
I use it differently — I ask this question in mundane everyday moments. I then imagine myself at the age of 90 asking myself “How much would I pay to be in this MUNDANE moment again?” <- It helps me to not only enjoy joyful moments but to be grateful for all the simple things (like being able to move, to see clearly, to meet friends, to enjoy discussions with my daughters). It teaches me to not see take anything for granted.
How I Re-Adjust My Life
Here’s one of the articles that I re-read every few weeks. It describes the three things everyone should focus on each day. It always helps me to re-adjust my life.
Don’t Let Kids Become Somebody
There is another more subtle way in which the innocence of childhood is lost: when the child is infected by the desire to become somebody. — The Way to Love Anthony De Mello
Whenever they try to become somebody, they start comparing themselves to these people. Postpone their desire to become somebody for as long as possible.
Have a bunch of fantastic moments today!
