Love and Desire
After discovering the charismatic therapist, author, and speaker Esther Perel I had to listen to all of her podcast episodes. Here’s the most interesting thing I learned from her:
Love enjoys knowing everything about you; desire needs mystery. Love likes to shrink the distance that exists between me and you, while desire is energized by it. If intimacy grows through repetition and familiarity, eroticism is numbed by repetition. It thrives on the mysterious, the novel, and the unexpected. Love is about having; desire is about wanting. Mating in Captivity by Esther Perel
It’s good to know a good relationship is not just about more familiarity or about more mystery but rather about a balance between them.
Quote I Love

When you’re in a situation with someone more experienced than you (like a negotiation), here’s a good thing to say — “If you were to give someone like me advice on what to say now, what advice would you give?” The James Altucher Show — 6 of the Best 1 Minute Life Hacks
Have a fantastic day, all
